Job Description This full time position is doing the billing for Bi-County Ambulance Service. We are looking for individuals who would like to establish a career in healthcare working for the only emergent ambulance company in Yuba and Sutter Counties. Essential Duties: Must portray a positive, courteous, professional and helpful demeanor at all times. Ensuring patient demographics are correct, verifying patient health insurance coverage, preparing ambulance transports to be billed out. Collections - phone calls to patients for unpaid ambulance transports. Claim Follow up - checking claim status on various health insurance websites, placing phone calls to health insurances for claim status. If they have been denied, why. Answering incoming phone calls from patients, attorneys offices, and health insurance companies. Qualifications: Minimum of 35WPM typing speed Knowledge of HIPAA Prior medical billing and collections experience preferred Great attention to detail Ability to work directly with health insurance companies and patient to get transports paid Ability to handle answering patients--- billing questions, collections, and unpaid accounts This full time position is Monday - Friday. Monday - Thursday work hours are 8am - 5pm with 2 15 minute breaks and 1 hour lunch break. Friday work hours are 7am-3:30pm with 2 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch break. Dress code is business casual (jeans allowed).
