Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of
natural gas to our customers. In its entirety, Gas Operations is
responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and
transmission operations, including planning, engineering,
maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
The PG&E Gas Portfolio Management Crossbore Team within Gas
Operations provides management and inspection oversight over
contractor performed and applicant installed work. Portfolio
Management ensures projects are constructed safely and efficiently,
with clear objectives, proper authorizations, procedures and
documentation, and with assigned resources to meet scope, schedule,
cost and quality commitments while maintaining clear communications
to all stakeholders. Position Summary The successful candidates
will oversee a regional gas and/or electric distribution Cross bore
scheduling and analytics team and ensure that all contractor
performed distribution and applicant installed projects within the
region are adequately staffed and that inspection and documentation
meets all PG&E Standards and work procedures. The successful
candidates will need to have a strong background in distribution
and applicant installed scheduling and analytics, invoicing, QC,
inspection, construction management and contracting. This role will
report to the Manager of Cross bore Inspection and Field Support
and work closely with other Managers and Supervisors within the
Portfolio Management team on process improvement efforts. Location
is flexible within the Northern California Regions (PG&E
Regions 1 & 2). This position is hybrid, working from your remote
office and your assigned work location based on business need. The
assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service
Territory. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s
discretionary incentive compensation programs PG&E is providing
the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might
pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This
compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The
actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple
factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education,
licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic
location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful
candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or
entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a
case-by-case basis related to these factors. A reasonable salary
range is: Bay Area Minimum: $126,000. Bay Area Maximum: $200,000.
&/OR California Minimum: $120,000. California Maximum:
$190,000. This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation)
covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol
screening Responsibilities •Invoicing •Quality Control •Oversee a
regional gas & electric distribution scheduling and data analytics
team and ensure that all contractor performed (2nd party)
distribution and applicant (3rd party) installed projects within
the region are adequately scheduled and that inspection and
documentation meets all PG&E Standards and work procedures. •Be
100% dedicated to public, employee and contractor safety. Create
and foster a safe work environment by maintaining an absolute
commitment to safety for self and the Team. •Develop a technical
working knowledge of all PG&E gas and electric distribution
standards related to work performed. •Support Crossbore inspection
coordinators with scheduling needs, allowing them to deploy
internal and external inspectors within region to ensure all
regional distribution projects are adequately staffed. •Drive
project construction schedules with contractors and internal
workgroups to ensure projects meet planned milestones. •Work with
workstreams and external stakeholders (applicants, developers and
external contractors) to ensure that portfolio and milestone dates
are accurate and all inspection and construction management needs
are met on all projects within the region. •Establish and maintain
relationships with internal workgroups and external vendors to draw
upon for qualified inspectors during peak work season to ensure
qualified inspection resources are available and deployed to meet
all inspection needs on all projects. •Interface with Crossbore
Supervisors for inspection needs and share available inspection
resources with other regions to meet inspection needs across the
entire company. •Communicate all key project documentation through
Oracle Unifier or ProntoForms including Request for Information
(RFIs), Potential Change Orders (PCOs), Field Design Changes (FDCs)
and weekly progress on each project. •Negotiate PCOs on behalf of
PG&E with contractor and advise project Managers (PM) or field
engineers (FE) and internal customers on change order costs when
requested. •Approve coordinator time daily within Oracle Unifier,
SAP or MyTime as applicable •Work with other construction
specialists within the region and across regions. Share
responsibilities and projects in order to achieve 100% compliance
to PG&E specifications and guidelines. •Support the development
and training of coordinators in the organization to ensure all
inspectors meet the required qualifications, fully understand the
position requirements and are prepared to represent PG&E to
provide safe, reliable and affordable service. •Assist in the
development of pre-job bidding packages, scope, and execution
strategy; conduct job showings and project walks. Attend project
kick off meetings, coordinate material deliveries, order material
shorts, meet with governing agencies to assist with permitting
issues. Ensure accurate documentation of contractor billing,
enforce timely payments, manage change orders, close projects jobs,
and maintain the change of custody of inspection records. •Speak
and write clearly, concisely, and directly; provides and accepts
feedback and suggestions. Leads and documents weekly construction
and progress meetings with PG&E and contract work groups and
maintain and publish meeting notes and field records. •Always
maintain public safety and insure approved traffic control plans
are implemented as required. •Report good catches and conduct
public safety audits as required. •100% dedicated to safety. Create

commitment to safety for self and the Team. Responsible for Cal
OSHA compliance for both PG&E and contract crews. Issues
non-compliance notifications when they are required and offers
corrective solutions to unsafe situations. Lead by example.
•Monitor daily construction activities and ensure that the
construction operations meet the program’s safety, quality, cost
and schedule goals. •Represent PG&E professionally and
ethically to all contacts. •Ensure that the contractor’s plan and
assigned resources are adequate to deliver the highest value to PGE
and meet the above stated goals. •Single point of contact to
communicate with construction contractors. Intercede on behalf of
the contractor to obtain, from Project Manager, Engineering,
Contracts, or other internal PG&E teams, any information,
resources, services or materials needed to maintain the
construction work flow, budget and schedule. •Responsible for
communicating any engineering and design issues with PM, Job
Owners, Field Engineers or Design Engineering. Seek assistance and
make decisions on any scope of work change affecting cost and
schedule according to the Delegation of Authority requirements.
Assist PG&E GC field engineer to verify the content of the test
data and other as-built documents for accuracy and completeness.
•Drive project close out. •Review and process all as-Builts as per
PG&E Record Information Management (RIM) Policy •Measure and
verify progress quantities for each work item performed. •Interpret
contract documents, plans and specifications and assess
contractor’s requests for additional compensation and compensatory
time. •Prepare or oversee daily field reports describing work
performed and resources used. •Channel all project documents to and
from contractor and ensure contractor is working to the current
revised documents. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: •High
School Diploma or equivalent 5 years of relevant experience.
Relevant experience may include exposure to utility, maintenance,
construction, operations, logistics or service planning work.
•Valid California driver’s license or the ability to acquire one
within 10 days of hire Subject to random DOT drug and alcohol
testing Requires regular travel to projects and to visit employees
in the field within assigned geographic area. Stands on and

degree in engineering or construction management •5 or more years’
experience in gas or electric distribution construction •Working
Knowledge of Oracle Unifier, ProntoForms, Microsoft
Outlook/Word/Excel •Demonstrated abilities in Cost accounting/
Inspection/Contract administration •Demonstrated knowledge of
Distribution Gas Pipeline & Distribution Electric Substructure
Standards and Construction •Ability to perform cost and project
scheduling •Knowledge of PG&E Gas & Electric Distribution and
Applicant Installed Standards •Ability to interpret, create and
validate project schedules. •Ability to interpret contract
documents, adequately respond to RFI’s, prepare estimates for and
evaluate Change Order requests, evaluate and quantify progress on
projects.
