Job Description Job Description Job Title: Forklift Mechanic Pay: $40-$45/hr DOE Shift: 6am - 2:30pm; Monday - Friday (occasional OT Saturdays) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The primary focus of this role is to troubleshoot, repair, and service a range of forklifts, including electric, propane, gas, and diesel models, ensuring their safe and reliable operation. Candidates should possess strong mechanical aptitude, solid diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety. Experience with Toyota or Komatsu equipment is highly valued. Responsibilities Perform scheduled maintenance and full-service repairs on forklifts and related equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues independently. Conduct safety checks to ensure all equipment meets OSHA and internal standards. Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and repair documentation. Respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize downtime. Communicate with operators and supervisors about recurring issues or necessary repairs. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area. Essential Skills Previous hands-on experience as a forklift or heavy equipment mechanic. Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Proficient with diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and standard shop tools. Reliable work history and adherence to safe repair practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical training or certifications are a plus. Preferred experience with Toyota or Komatsu forklifts. Work Environment Work in a warehouse/industrial environment with varying temperatures. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and involves bending, kneeling, or climbing. The shift is from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. Employees should be comfortable moving between buildings as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
