Human Resources Director100% ONSITEThe HR team has proactive obligations entrusted with ensuring our two most valuable assets are protected: our People and our Finances. Human Resources provides our organization with structure and direction to meet business needs by educating, coaching, directing, advising, protecting, and contributing positively to the bottom line of our organization in every department.Essential Job Functions, including but not limited to:

  • Employment Law: Stay current with all employment-related laws and requirements (HIPAA, FCRA, etc.) and update leadership during regularly scheduled meetings. Complete adverse actions for background check processes by maintaining matrices and legal action logs, documenting conversations, and maintaining company policies. Discuss changes or challenges with leadership as needed. Responsible for updating and e-posting the Employee Handbook by consulting with attorneys and the SPS leadership team. Manage subpoenas, requests for information, lawsuits, legal notices, and collaborate with company and insurance law firms to provide necessary information for company defense. Manage all employee requests for leave and ensure proper documentation within required timelines, maintaining up-to-date processes.
  • Staff Development: Collaborate with executives and leadership to conduct coaching, counseling, in-service training, refresher sessions, and disciplinary actions for internal staff as needed. Build relationships with staff to foster company culture and engagement, increasing job satisfaction and retention. Oversee HR Technician responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Facilitate engagement activities such as charity events, employee recognition, newsletters, social media campaigns, celebrations, and wellness initiatives.
  • Health Benefits: Manage relationships with broker firms to stay informed on best practices and plan options. Research and recommend plan options to leadership prior to annual renewals. Ensure timely processing of benefit enrollments and terminations, and respond to employee inquiries. Coordinate with the Payroll Department on shared processes.
  • Workers' Compensation: Ensure workforce safety standards are met. Facilitate proper coding, work with brokers on claims, renewals, and audits. Handle full-cycle claims processing, including engaging with medical facilities, creating procedures, training staff, and resolving employee issues.
  • 401(k) Plan: Manage entry periods, annual reporting, payroll coordination, distributions, and advisory meetings. Conduct employee education sessions and respond to inquiries, ensuring documentation and procedures are followed.
  • Unemployment Insurance: Monitor and report claims and costs. Respond promptly to claims, validate, log, dispute, and close claims. Process requests for information within 48 hours. Provide monthly reports on costs, enrollments, and trends. Notify leadership of new laws impacting business activities.
  • Production Expectations: Complete all HR functions accurately and timely, including unemployment, workers' compensation, benefits, leaves, employee relations, and legal claims, while providing excellent customer service.Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service daily
  • Experience with adverse claim processing
  • Fiduciary management experience
  • Staffing industry experience preferred
  • Paychex and payroll experience helpful
  • Creative thinker with strong engagement skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment and wage laws at federal, state, and local levels
  • Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation, 401(k) plans, and medical benefitsEducation/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 5+ years of HR experience, staffing experience preferred
    • SHRM or PHR certification highly preferred
