role:Under direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator
(HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, the
Physician's Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) will
assist the Physician in all medical care and treatment of the
patient population including but not limited to behavioral health
disorders. The PA and NP will coordinate the patient plan of care
through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in
collaboration with the healthcare team and in compliance with all
agency, local, state, federal laws and regulations.Additional

table:Education:--- Completion of a master's program in nursing
(NPs) or an accredited education program for PAsExperience:---
Previous correctional/detention facility experience--- Minimum two
(2) years' experienceLicenses/Certifications:--- Unrestricted
current license, certification or registration in state of practice
- must maintain all certifications, educational requirements,
licensing, etc.--- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
registration--- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS
(where applicable) certification through AHAWhat you will do:Hold
daily sick call, examine patients and carry out treatment according
to standardized procedures and protocolsCarry out physicians'
ordersConsult with physician about non-emergency conditions falling
outside protocol parametersIdentify medical emergency conditions
and provide appropriate emergency care and arrange for transfer to
the nearest appropriate facilityAdmit patients to the OHU and
coordinate with nursing staff to develop treatment plansPerform
annual physical examinations on all persons served as scheduled,
order appropriate laboratory studies, and classify appropriate
worker statusRepair simple lacerations and remove suturesPerform
minor surgical procedures (i.e. I&D, basic splinting and toe
nail removal)Responsible for recognizing and treating non-psychotic
behavioral health disorders pharmacologically as indicatedIn
collaboration with the Psychiatrist, provide ongoing care of
patients who are stable on maintenance doses of non-psychotic
medications, as well as treat cases of situational stressors,
causing anxiety, depression and sleep disordersSuccessfully
complete and continue practice of the OneCare team's educational
program, Medical Provider Training for Prescribing Mental Health
DrugsDocument all findings using the S.O.A.P.E. methodEnsure
confidentiality of persons served health informationProvide
discharge planning as requiredParticipate in Quality Management and
Peer Review activitiesAttend quarterly Quality Management
meetingsPerform other duties as assigned.Wellpath is an
