Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate provision of safe patient care, assuring confidentiality, comfort, and advocacy within the scope of nursing practice.Qualifications:


    • RN
      required, BSN preferred
    • 1 year
      emergency room or other emergency services experience preferred
    • California
      Registered Nursing License; current, active and in good standing
    • Current
      BLS, ACLS and PALS Certificate required
    • Trauma
      Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) preferred
    • CEN
      preferred
      Job Requirements:

      1. - - - - - -
      Provides nursing care utilizing all components
      of the nursing process-Including: - assessment, diagnosis, planning,
      intervention and evaluation and Identifies opportunities to meet the learning
      needs of patient and family, overcoming barriers to learning.

      2. - - - - - -
      Proficiently uses critical thinking skills and
      evidenced based practice in the nursing process in delivering care to patients
      based on their functional and developmental age; identifying actual and potential
      risk and demonstrating leadership in emergent or crisis situations.

      3. - - - - - -
      Demonstrates proper use of -all -equipment
      utilized in the ED; how to access and scan medications in pharmacy automated
      dispensing system; how to conduct beginning and end-of-shift narcotic count.

      4. - - - - - -
      Based on information obtained from the nursing
      assessment, provides a concise problem focused report to the provider.

      5. - - - - - -
      Assigns the appropriate triage rating based on
      patient complaint and anticipation of diagnostic needs, using the Emergency Severity
      Index.

      6. - - - - - -
      Demonstrates competency in the process of all
      infusion and medication preparations; treatments, procedural sedation, follow
      up labs, positive cultures, diagnostic imaging, monitoring system, nurse call
      system, organ donation and release of remains. -

      7. - - - - - -
      Demonstrates proficiency navigating through
      Orchard Hospital Health Information Systems (HIS) including CPSI, T-System,
      Radiology Information System, ELearning, and Orchard Hospital Policies and
      Procedures - entering and noting orders, obtaining diagnostic test results,
      accessing information from previous hospital visits and locating policy and
      procedures.

      Demonstrates effective communication with
      members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes; attends and
      participates in all required in-service training and mandatory meetings (75%
