Pay: $71 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days Start Date: 3/3/2026 About the Position Registered Nurse - Hospice – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - Hospice Location: Sacramento, CA Start Date: 03-03-2026 End Date: 06-02-2026 Shift Type: Rotating day/evening shifts (primarily weekdays with rotating weekends about every 4 weeks), 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (every other week pattern noted), 8-hour shifts, approximately 40 hours per week, holiday coverage as assigned (minor holidays and 2 major holidays required) Hours per Week: 40 Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour About United Health Care Staffing At United Health Care Staffing (UHC Staffing), we believe healthcare staffing should be more than just finding a job. Roles & Responsibilities Assess hospice patients in homes and facilities and deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care Manage an assigned caseload of roughly 12–14 patients and prioritize 4 visits per day or 2 Start of Care visits per day Perform and document nursing visits and assessments accurately in Homecare Homebase (HCHB) Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, families, and community resources to support comfort-focused goals Initiate and complete Start of Care (SOC) visits and related documentation in a timely manner Communicate changes in patient condition and ensure appropriate follow-up and escalation when needed Support patients and families through teaching, symptom management, and emotional support Qualifications Active RN (Registered Nurse) license in California BLS (AHA) certification required Minimum 1 year of hospice nursing experience required; 2 years of nursing experience noted/preferred Comfortable with home health/hospice case management and conducting home visits Proficient with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) charting or willing to complete training Able to work rotating weekends and assigned holidays as outlined Candidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity) in the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable Willingness to complete department-specific orientation Education Active Registered Nurse (RN) license BSN preferred but not required BLS (AHA) certification required Knowledge & Skills Strong clinical assessment and symptom management skills for hospice populations Experience with Start of Care (SOC) processes and caseload management Accurate charting and documentation skills in HCHB (Homecare Homebase) Excellent communication and family-support skills for end-of-life care Time management and prioritization for multiple daily visits Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community resources Benefits Thorough department-specific orientation (12 hours) so you feel confident from day one A supportive hospice team that values compassionate, patient-centered care Consistent 8-hour shifts with a guaranteed 40 hours/week schedule Meaningful work — frequent home visits and continuity of care with a manageable caseload (12–14 patients) Professional development and continuing education opportunities Licensure support and help with required certifications Predictable rotating schedule (weekend rotation roughly every 4 weeks) to help plan your life Mentorship from experienced hospice clinicians and collaborative interdisciplinary teams Travel Perks: Explore Sacramento, CA Explore Sacramento's River Parkway and beautiful bike trails, stroll through historic Old Sacramento and the waterfront, visit the California State Railroad Museum and the Crocker Art Museum, enjoy the city's farm-to-fork dining scene in Midtown, or take easy weekend trips to Lake Tahoe or the Napa/Sonoma wine regions for nature and scenic escapes.
