Job Title: Clinical Nurse (RN) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of three years of acute care nursing experience required License: California Registered Nurse License Certifications: AHA BLS Certification Required Must-Have: Telemetry and previous travel experience Description: The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible, accountable, and authorized to deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care according to the philosophy and goals of the nursing department. The RN utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship-Based Care, and a professional nursing practice model to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all patients assigned to their care. The RN makes determinations regarding the patient's progress toward goals and utilizes therapeutic professional relationships with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided based on the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and expectation of excellence of the organization. The RN demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences while applying the nursing process. The RN provides care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and is grounded in Relationship-Based Care principles.
