firm with a strong focus on municipal and public agency work. This
Citrus Heights office is seeking a Municipal Law/Land Use Attorney
to provide immediate counsel to planning commissions, city
councils, and other public boards. This is a unique chance to work
in a collegial environment with a path toward a City Attorney role.
This full-time, non-litigation position blends transactional and
advisory work with public agencies. You'll handle land use, zoning,
CEQA/NEPA compliance, and other municipal matters while attending
public meetings and collaborating with local officials. What You'll
Do Serve as legal counsel to planning commissions, city councils,
and other public boards Advise clients on the Brown Act, Public
Records Act, and Political Reform Act Draft ordinances, development
agreements, and review zoning laws and variances Guide
municipalities on CEQA/NEPA compliance, land use entitlements,
election law, fair housing, and water law Attend meetings and
provide real-time legal guidance Collaborate with municipal
leaders, stakeholders, and fellow attorneys What We're Looking For
Active California Bar license 3 years of municipal law/advisory
experience Experience serving as legal counsel to public boards or
commissions Strong expertise in land use, zoning, and CEQA/NEPA
compliance Ability to step in immediately and provide confident,
actionable advice Local to or willing to relocate/commute to Citrus
Heights Compensation & Benefits Junior Role: $140,000–$165,000 |
Senior Role: $165,000–$180,000 Discretionary bonuses based on
writing, land use, or election law experience Flexible work
