Job Description:
This internship will support a manufacturing plant that produces
process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions,
oils, and other specialized life science products at our Richmond,
CA chemical plant. You will be assigned projects that will benefit
our compliance, sustainablilty and productivity goals. You will
collaborate with production, EH&S (Environmental, Health and
Science), others in the MSAT (Manufacturing Scientist and
Technology) team and various stakeholders to improve our processes
for determining and managing permit conditions and reducing our
impact to environment. These projects will be a mixture of
research, floor monitoring, tracking, and development of tools or
procedure improvements at the chemical manufacturing site. How
You'll Make An Impact:
- Learn how the site operates and how the processes interface
with our environmental systems and tracking tools to find
opportunities for improvement and deliver changes to achieve.
- Investigate, develop basic experiments and tests (including
writing & executing protocols); analyze results, make
recommendations, and develop reports to improve manufacturing
processes that impact our environment.
- Analyze and resolve basic Manufacturing and Compliance issues
to improve tracking systems and create data repositories of
processes and equipment that impact our environmental permits.
- Develop and edit training & technical production documentation
to meet sustainability targets and to reduce risk of environmental
compliance concerns.
- Establish basic project plans ensuring deliverables are
completed to expectations, using project management toolsWhat You
Bring:
- Education: Must have completed freshman, sophomore or junior
year for a BS in Chemical Engineering or Environmental
Science/Technology or Chemistry at an accredited college or
university, with plans to return to school in the following
term
- Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0
scale)
- Work Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing
environment or in a laboratory environment is preferred but not
required
- Ability to communicate verbally and enthusiastically to a
variety of audiences and to present compelling arguments and to
train others
- Strong computer skills such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Power
Point
- A continuous improvement and problem solving mindset and
ingrained curiosity to learn and understand
- Be willing to make a full-time commitment of 40 hours a week
for 9 weeks from June 16 - August 15, 2025

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25
at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in
writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on
several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact
compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge,
