North America Sales Director
Meet and exceed established Sunsweet Growers, Inc. sales goals in region of responsibility through category focus and expertise, returning NCT $ goals to grower members.
Build and present specific growth plans to existing customers while developing business of new sales opportunities.
Understand customer, market, and region dynamics to track and communicate.
Establish goals for brokers; communicating areas of opportunity, and transferring knowledge of Sunsweet strategies and products.
Customer / Business Development
Create customer / category strategies and plans that are consistent with account philosophies to attain goals.
Understand customer's strategies of categories.
Identify opportunities for distribution, POG's, product mix and pricing.
Effectively present benefits of Sunsweet products to customers, providing a reason to build sales.
Execute 100% distribution on national product launches and prioritize product relevance of core and secondary items.
Broker management
Provide broker with customer sales goals and objectives: dollar and case sales, distribution, promotion planning, retail expectations and standards.
Effectively transfer knowledge of Sunsweet products and strategies in customer meetings, retail audits, and broker meetings.
Travel to market of customer and broker 3-6 times per year to establish goals and objectives, while monitoring results.
Audit a minimum of 15 stores per market visit.
Establish and maintain contact with all relevant levels within the broker organization - Business Manager(s), VP/GM, Retail Manager(s), and administration.
Identify opportunities for new distribution and volume growth within accounts and / or markets. Review IRI distribution performance to ensure ACV goals are met.
Effectively articulate business plans and category knowledge with customers, establishing a leadership role in category direction.
Ensure broker involvement and action through consistent communication, clearly outlining objectives.
Report all major activity and strategies with sales leaders at Sunsweet.
Communicate with Marketing Department to effectively create customer programs and promotional material.
Monitor and track monthly sales reports, understanding trends in customer sales, by segment.
Utilize various category updates from IRI and Nielson, tracking category and segment data, ACV levels, retail pricing, and trends.
Learn available broker systems and reports: I-Qubed, no-scan, handheld objectives.
Manage and track MDF to insure staying within budget requirements.
Promotion Management - review, modify and approved promotions in MEI on a timely basis.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business or related area.
5+ years in Consumer Packaged Goods sales. Preferably with strong broker management experience.
Must be exceptionally goal-oriented and organized, with a demonstrated ability to understand and use sales and marketing resources in a selling environment.
Must be capable of effectively interpreting and using multiple information sources to develop specific tactical plans and options.
Additional experience of strong communication skills as a leader in broker collaboration is required.
Travel consists of 70 - 90 nights annually in the market/region of responsibility, and to related industry conventions.
